TONIGHT: Miami Vice networking for artists

Posted By on Wed, Oct 6, 2010 at 9:40 PM

For artists, the business side of things can often feel something approximating greasy, sleazy and/or just totally confusing.

By contrast, business types, we have it on good authority, sometimes find the creative side of their work daunting or at least, lacking a network of creatives, lonely.

Enter the Baroque Network, a new quarterly party meant to “blend artists, musicians, and business types big and small under one roof for networking and inspiration.”

The first one is happening tonight, at the Glover Mansion (321 W. 8th Ave.), where the newly minted Baroque Design Studio (co-owned by Inlander designer Matt Bogue) has its offices.

It’s free, starts at 6 pm, carries a Miami Vice theme, and will feature the following:

  • Work by artist Darcy Drury (an alum of Terrain 2010)
  • Turntablism by Benjamin Jorgens
  • Stand-Up Comedy by Lance Paullin
  • T-Shirts screen-printed live by the Baroque folks

There will also be a photo booth, which the kids love. Peep www.baroquenetwork.com for details.
