Sound Check is a new feature you'll start seeing in today's music section, in which we highlight a song — or even an album — that we're digging on at the moment. Sometimes it's local, sometimes it's the latest Lady Gaga track. Don't judge.
This week we're highlighting some locals. Breathy, sexy lo-fi local rockers Mirror Mirror recently released their debut album, Segments, and we're totally smitten with it. It's a release with serious range, from the jangly "The Undivine" to my favorite, the droning, marching third track, "The Chamber." Download the album — or just give it a listen — at mirrormirror.bandcamp.com. The band has all of its releases there, so while you're at it, check out their excellent Brian Jonestown-esque Monophonic Catatonic. We know Anton Newcombe would approve.
