An elderly woman held an intruder at gunpoint this morning until police arrived. (SR)

Police are looking for a woman they believe stabbed her boyfriend this morning. They say she may have been the victim of domestic violence acting in self defense. (KXLY)

Rutgers University fired its men's basketball coach Mike Rice after ESPN broadcast video of him physically and verbally abusing players, including yelling homophobic slurs. (CNN) 

The Obama administration is encouraging banks to lend to people with weak credit, arguing they're getting left behind in the economic recovery. Skeptics worry this could cause the same problems that led to the financial crisis in the first place. (WashPo)
