Bring us ALL THE KITTENS!

Spokane has unfortunately been left out in the cold during similar past events, but we've now made it to the big leagues, folks! Some of Uber's Spokane drivers are participating in a special event Thursday that involves delivering kittens to the public for special snuggle sessions, in more than 50 U.S. cities. Yes, you read that correctly — tomorrow you can request on-demand kitten delivery (pending availability) of REAL LIVE KITTENS to your place of work. (On behalf of participating shelters, Uber is requesting deliveries be made to offices rather than private residences to allow for maximum snuggle distribution.)

Local shelter the Spokane Humane Society is providing the tiny cats. It's not confirmed exactly how many kittens will be out making the rounds, but Uber's local city coordinator in Spokane, Corey Marcoux, says he and several other drivers will be zipping around town in their temporary kitten taxis.

Anyone can request kittens using the Uber app — open it up tomorrow, between 11 am and 3 pm, to request the kittens through a special option that will show up on the home screen. For a $30 delivery fee, the majority of which goes to support the shelter, kittens (who are also adoptable) will swing by for 15 minutes of pure adorableness. However, since there's only so many kittens on the road tomorrow, and obviously countless cat freaks out there (like us) who want to experience the best break in the workday ever, snuggle services are limited:

"Demand will be high as many will want to test the kitten’s skills (they are excellent paper shredders), so your patience is appreciated. We’ll do our best to deliver as many kitten cuddles as possible, but availability is limited! If you can’t get a visit from #UberKITTENS today, visit the adoptable kittens in person at the shelters below and check out the pawty on social."

This marks the third year Uber has offered UberKITTEN, and Marcoux says it's going to be the biggest year yet. Starting back in 2013, the event was held in Seattle, New York and San Francisco, and grew to seven U.S. cities last year. This year more than 50 cities are partnering with local shelters to provide fluffy joy to even more people across the U.S.

"It's a big ramp up and we're really excited to see what donations we'll get for SHS and as well as how many cats we can adopt out," Marcoux says.

Brings us some kittens right meow, we say!

UPDATE: UberKITTENS coincides with 2015's National Cat Day!
