Holy heck, Tuesday!

Posted By on Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 4:01 PM

Is it Friday? No, it's Tuesday. But there's a whole heckuva lot of stuff going on tonight for being one of the lamest days of the week.

Turns out, Portland band Nurses aren't afraid of wieners. They undoubtedly saw a whole lot of them on their recent live performance on ChatRoulette. And if you watch the video (see below), you can tell they converted a few of the random people watching them from around the world. Well, except for the guy that yells "play Free Birrrrrrd!" Nurses play Empyrean tonight with Bodhi Drip and Olaf Olaf Olaf at 7 pm. $5.

Happiness is death metal for Super Story Time Land, a candy-coated west-side death metal band that sings songs about kitties and playing baseball and stuff. 6 pm. $8. All-ages.

He's not his dad, or his grand-dad — he's Hank III, a guy with a family tradition of rabble-rousing whilst playing music. He brings his band Assjack with him to the Knitting Factory tonight for a set of country and "hellbilly," his personal brand of countrified metal. Heshers and hicks unite. 8 pm. $17.50. All-ages.

Nigiri and swing dancing aren't usually uttered in the same sentence, but that doesn't mean they can't be. Take in a spicy tuna roll and the light swing songs of Spokane favorites, Six Foot Swing. They play Raw Sushi.
