The Seattle P-I blogger who goes by the handle wawinegirl posted an entry yesterday about her visit to Spokane for last weekend's Spring Barrel Tasting. Like any good west-side blogger, she had to preface her impressions with a couple of insults (including a reference to the tired and absurdly ill-fitting nickname "Spokompton") and a healthy dose of condescension. Her lede:

"When you mention the word Spokane, you wouldn't be surprised to here, "ohhh whyyyy are you going there"? (Note sarcastic tone) But being that it was yours truly first time spending quality time there, I must say.. it's pretty!"

Of course, she went on to extol the virtues of Barrister Winery. But next time, she should leave the superciliousness in Seattle.
