MORNING HEADLINES: McCaslin no fan of Matt Shea. Plus, Super Bowl stuff.

McCaslin blasts Shea — Longtime Republican state senator Bob McCaslin, who is stepping down from the Legislature for health reasons, blasts one of his potential replacements, Rep. Matt Shea. (Another of the potential replacements, Roy Murry, was recently arrested in Las Vegas and was convicted in Spokane County of carrying an illegal weapon.) (AP)

Hayden Lake tragedy to hit the silver screen — Filming should begin in April on a film about a mysterious 1964 boating accident in which 15-year-old Pete Peterson was blamed for the deaths of two girls. (CdA Press)

Seattle viaduct — A contractor in Seattle had to tear down 160 feet of the just-emerging Spokane Street viaduct after it found that the structure was out of alignment by five inches. (Seattle Times)

Assange back in court — Court hears testimony that the Swedish prosecutor trying to extradite the Wikileaks founder is "biased against men" and motivated by "sexual politics." (Telegraph)
