Where do you want to see bike lanes and sidewalks?

You could whine and complain about the lack of bicycle infrastructure, angry vehicles on the road, and shoddy bicycle trails in this area … or you could do something about it.

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission wants to know what mountain biking opportunities you’d like to see at Mount Spokane State Park. The online survey is the first step in creating a Comprehensive Trail. Surveys are limited to one per person and will be accepted through Dec. 16.

The City of Post Falls is also hosting a bicycle and pedestrian survey. The city hopes to develop a list of bicycle and pedestrian priorities, however it doesn’t have the funding to complete any of the projects mentioned.

If these surveys seem a little bittersweet, it’s because they are. Finding the funding for and then actually implementing these projects will always be an uphill battle. But who knows? If bicyclists and pedestrians don’t voice their opinions, we might end up with more parking lots.
