TONIGHT!

When Jaeda Glasgow, a local emcee, won one of our Bands to Watch titles back in 2010, it was clear why: she has a huge stage presence and a

hell of a lot of talent. But now, a couple years gone by, Jaeda is starting to embrace her power as a local hip-hop heavyweight. Her brand new album, The Journey (which she drops TONIGHT), shows her rapping as solidly as ever. But even more interesting is the way she brings honor, thankfulness and this New Age-y sort of attitude — rapping about “your third eye” and “peace, love, life, reflection” — into her songs. That’s something that’s unique for hip-hop, and not just in Spokane. Be at the Red Room tonight at 7 pm to see her perform with Terms None, Drew Slum, Freetime Synthetic, K Clifton, Stone Tobey, Parafyn and Spider Jam. $5. Gotta be 21.

This is no reunion show. Nope, Deadones USA — a local punk rock outfit of the rawest kind — has kept it going for ten straight years now, and this show is a celebration of a decade of making punk in Spokane. (Granted, they’ve had a bit of a revolving with drummers, but come on — who hasn’t?) The band, which started kicking out the jams in 2001, has seen many a musical fad come and go, but has always stuck to tried-and-true, punk rock standards. We got an email from singer/guitarist Tyler Arnold last week that made us smile. “We have no plans of stopping,” he says. Right on, man. Party tonight with them, Moral Crux, The Creeps, Reason for Existence, Hotbox, They're Watching and The Fizzlin Dicks at 6 pm at the Hop! $7. All-ages.

After a few years honing his poppy take on blues rock, Eric Tollefson a 28-year-old songwriter who ditched a career in the financial industry for a life in music, has emerged out of Bend, Oregon, (by way of a childhood in Alaska and college in Montana) with a precisely crafted new record, The Polar Ends, which drops this week. To celebrate the album, the lanky red-head, who elicits comparisons to a livelier Ray LaMontagne or maybe G. Love, is stopping off in Spokane as part of a release tour to showcase his catchy tunes, including the bouncy single, “Whose Love” in addition to the albums softer, gentler tracks, like “Before You Go.” Recorded at Dave Matthews’ Haunted Hollow studio, the record captures the cool, easy vibe of Tollefson’s folkier side while also pointing toward the louder, more powerful future of this up-and-comer. He plays the A Club tonight with Acorn Project and Funktion at 8 pm. $6. Gotta be 21.

Silver Treason plays TWO sets tonight at Jones Radiator — one at 9 pm and another at 10 pm. And they'll also be joined by Hey! is for Horses at 11 pm. Free. Gotta be 21.

And Hell's Belles - that all-female AC/DC tribute band — plays tonight at the Knit.

SATURDAY!

As a part of a giant birthday bash for DJ Divine Jewels, she'll spin records, Hotbox will play a punk set, there will be oil wrestling and burlesque performances and girls on skates. I mean, what else could you ask for? Head on down to the A Club by 8 pm. $5 donations benefit the LGBT Center.

And Spokane's only all-male Go Go's tribute band, the Go Man Go's, play tomorrow at the Baby Bar!

McDougall must like us! The Portland one-man band (who we interviewed here) comes back again to play Mootsy's with Hannah Reader and Team Growl. 10 pm. $5. Gotta be 21.
