In the April 25 Inlander, a news article described the "Quartzite Roadless Area" as one of five wild places in Eastern Washington for which environmentalists are trying to obtain federal wilderness designations. The Quartzite area, between Chewelah and Newport, is not a federally recognized "Roadless Area," despite the possible implication. The name is being used in Sierra Club brochures, but simply as a place name, a local Sierra representative tells us.

In the May 2 edition, "Musical Benches," it was implied that the city comprehensive plan charges officials with finding new space for advertisements that appear on bus benches around the city. In fact, the effort is aimed at finding replacements for the benches themselves along STA bus routes.
