Disgraced

Want to “do something” in your local community? Get the conversation started with Stage Left’s production of Ayad Akhtar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Disgraced, a dark, witty and thankfully, comedic look at prejudice, identity and faith. A pleasant dinner party disintegrates in one act as a diverse group of friends tackle religion and culture in the 21st century, and not always in a levelheaded manner. Centered around Pakistani American Amir’s struggle with his Muslim upbringing, the play also dives into modern discourse on radical Islam, terrorism and much more during its 85 minutes. You’ll want to hire a babysitter for children under 10, as this show is for mature audiences and contains profanity and physical violence.

Jan. 13-29; Fri-Sat at 7:30 pm, Sun at 2 pm • $10 • Stage Left Theater • 108 W. Third • spokanestageleft.org • 838-9727
