Harumatsuri Japanese Spring Food Festival

This weekend, the Spokane Buddhist Temple hosts its 27th Annual Harumatsuri Japanese Spring Food Festival. This local version of the time-honored celebration, which traditionally included rituals to ensure a plentiful crop in the coming growing seasons, also offers a tofu-and-vegetable dinner option. Desserts include authentic butter mochi and chex arare; the latter is a sweet, baked sesame-seed snack. The event allows for online pre-ordering as well as takeout options.
