Shakespeare Live!

On April 23 of this year, exactly 400 years after the death of William Shakespeare, England’s Royal Shakespeare Company put on an extraordinary event to commemorate the occasion, filmed live and soon to screen at the Bing. The performance included enactments of iconic Shakespeare scenes by a variety of big-name actors, Benedict Cumberbatch and Helen Mirren among them, as well as Shakespeare-inspired dance and musical performances. A part of the Bing’s monthly Stage to the Screen series, Shakespeare Live! promises to deliver the closest possible approximation of being an audience member at the original performance, and at a far more accessible price point.
