Julia Keefe to perform at the Spokane Club on Thursday

It's a rare opportunity to be able to catch Julia Keefe, a 20-year-old Spokane native who has already established herself as an accomplished jazz singer and celebrant of Mildred Bailey's catalogue (a 1930s jazz singer from Spokane). But Keefe, who we assume is home from college for the summer, performs a sure-to-be-packed show this Thursday at the Spokane Club. She'll be performing "The Girl from Spokane: Julia Keefe sings Mildred Bailey" — a show she plans to take on the road in the next year as she works to see Bailey inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame at New York's Lincoln Center Museum.

Tickets have only been open to members of the Club but will be available to the public tomorrow and Wednesday. They can be purchased ($15, cash only) at the Spokane Club front desk. Call 838-8511 for details.

Here's a video of Keefe performing "Honeysuckle Rose" — a tune Bailey also liked to sing.
