Mankind is Obsolete is keeping industrial music alive and well. The L.A.-based, female-fronted industrial rock outfit follows in the percussion-heavy footsteps of bands like Einstürzende Neubauten and Gravity Kills, adding something lighter to the genre at times, and, other times, layering in growling, scary vocals. MKIO achieves something few other bands can: They create music both heavy and danceable. 6:30 pm. $5 for ladies; $7 for men-folk. Stick around for the Pasties & Paddles Industrial After Party — but you've gotta be 21 for that.

A Club opens its doors to rock'n'roll tonight: Japandroids, Please Draw in Me and Belt of Vapor. The Vancouver, BC-based Japandroids, supposedly, is in their prime when they're onstage (read our piece on them here). Check out the video below of them performing at KEXP. If you haven't been to A Club (not THE A Club, just A Club) yet, it's at 406 1/2 W. Sprague. The half means it's upstairs — you'll see the sign. 7:30 pm. $12. All-ages.

There's an after-party for the Japandroids show downstairs at Mootsy's, featuring long-gone beloved Spokane band Flee the Century. They'll play with Matthew Winters starting at 11 pm. It's free for folks with Japandroids bracelets, and only three bucks without. Gotta be 21.

Hootie has gone country. Check out Darius Rucker without the Blowfish over at the Arena. He's opening up for Brad Paisley at 7:30 pm. And you can still try for front row seats, too. Live Nation asks that you bring canned food and bottled water to a food drive at the Arena from 4 - 6:30 pm for a chance to win front row seats. All donations will go to Second Harvest Food Bank. Tickets are $45 - $75 otherwise. Show starts at 7:30 pm.
