Food idea for this weekend

Caramel apples and pumpkin doughnuts: Do you need any more reason to drive up to the Bluff? At the annual Green Bluff Apple and Harvest Festivals, the apples that make Washington famous (and pumpkins too) are at their freshest.

Spokane natives try to keep Green Bluff a secret, but everybody ought to know about the collection of farms that’s 13 miles north of downtown Spokane. The crisp air of the fall in the country and the crisp apple pie are pretty good reasons for getting in a little farm-browsing, too. If it’s warm, leave the jackets at home; if it’s cool, go for the spiced cider. Red Delicious, Granny Smith … ready or not, here the Fujis come!
