All-too-familiar tragedy — Yesterday, there was yet another fatal officer-involved shooting. This time, his name was Kenneth Dennis. Officers say he was holding a knife when they responded to a domestic violence call. A candlelight vigil was held outside his home last night.

MLK Way — Today — let's remind you — is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Last week, the city approved a contract to build a new street near the University District in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., adding one more street to the more than 893 (according to the Star-Ledger) already named after the civil rights leader. Fantasy football — In what is perhaps the saddest news story of the past week, a newlywed couple decided to skip their honeymoon to attend the Seattle Seahawks playoff game yesterday. Yeah, that playoff game. Maybe if the Bears had known, they would have played a little bit more compassionately against the poor Seahawks. (KREM)

Tunisia fire spreads — A man setting himself on fire in protest in Tunisia last week led to a wave of anger that toppled the government. Now, at least three other individuals in three other African countries have done the same thing. (NYT)
