Animal shelter measure broken down by precinct

Posted on Thu, Nov 10, 2011 at 4:04 PM

One more map for this afternoon, before the next wave of results comes in this evening.

Spokane County Measure 1, which would have consolidated animal services between the city and county of Spokane, appears to have been put down. As of press time, the measure is losing by a margin of 56 to 42 percent. That's a decisive loss but not a complete blowout.

The precinct-by-precinct breakdown paints a picture that is far more stark, however. The measure won support in a few small pockets (notably, parts of Spokane's South Hill and in Cheney), but, as this map shows, the rest of the county was resolutely against the measure.
