CITY HALL EYEBALL: Council meeting, transition fever

Posted By on Mon, Jan 9, 2012 at 2:01 PM

Seems like a light meeting tonight. Spokane City Council members and the public may even get home before midnight. If you're truly interested in the lengthening of Plan Commission member appointment terms, click here and scroll down on the left bar to grab yourself a copy of tonight's agenda.

The real item of interest this week comes tomorrow, as Mayor David Condon's transition teams will present their findings to the council. Stop by the council chambers tomorrow between 3 pm and 5 pm to watch for yourself. The teams will present their recommendations for reforming the police department, spurring economic growth (here's a close-up on teen unemployment — yikes), addressing infrastructure and quality-of-life issues, and how to fix the city's budget woes.

Will the recommendations include anything new, decisive or wild? Do any of them have a chance in hell at being enacted?

Stay tuned . . .
