A quick Monday roundup:
1. Spokane City Councilman Steve Salvatori broke his leg this weekend while skiing in Crested Butte, Colo. He "accidentally went down a black diamond" ski trail, Salvatori told The Inlander this morning.
That's why, in the words of Homer Simpson, it's better to watch things than to do things.
2. In the wake of finding the alleged killer's body, Mayor David Condon and Council President Ben Stuckart released a joint statement this afternoon regarding the Spokane triple homicide:
“My heart goes out to all who knew and loved the victims of this horrible crime,” says Mayor Condon. “We cannot make the pain they feel go away, but we are working to find some resolution in the case. We have concentrated law enforcement efforts all weekend to address this crime, and today we have seen significant progress.”
“I, too, extend my sympathies to the family and friends of the victims,” says Council President Stuckart. “As an advocate for Spokane’s children, I am deeply saddened by this crime, but grateful for the excellent work of our Police officers.”
3. A light City Council agenda tonight — no public hearings, no first-ordinance readings. To see for yourself, head here to the council website, find the agenda packets toggle on the left, and grab the Feb. 13 session.
