TONIGHT: Kaskade and The Supersuckers

Posted By on Tue, Aug 7, 2012 at 9:16 AM

For more than 20 years, Seattle’s Supersuckers – who call themselves “the Greatest Rock n’ Roll Band in the World – have been cranking out tunes about booze and chicks and drugs and fights. Led by frontman Eddie Spaghetti, the band plays an old school sound that combines rock, punk and a little hee-haw for a sound that rises above trends and beyond generations. Over its long career, the Supersuckers’ sound has appealed to a massive range of musicians – from Willie Nelson to Eddie Vedder, both of which the band has collaborated.

See the Supersuckers with Mountain Sprout, Thirty-Three, Reason for Existence and Sweet Revel D tonight at 7:30.  Tickets for all ages are $10 at The Hop!  For more information click here or call 368-4077.

The Supersuckers

Electronic music has always been popular, but right now – with the emergence of dubstep into the mainstream – it’s surging. That’s good for house DJs like Ryan Raddon, aka Kaskade, who has been honing his DJ chops since the early 1990s. After finishing mission work for the Mormon church, Raddon opened his own record store in Salt Lake City before moving to San Francisco to work for OM Records, a respected electronic label. Today, he’s made huge waves in electronic scenes, collaborating with giants from Deadmau5 to Skrillex, being featured on video game soundtracks and even having an online TV show made about his creative process.

Tonight the Knitting Factory hosts Kaskade at 8 pm. Tickets sell for $32-$37 for all ages.  Click here for more information or call 244-3279.
