WSU's Mike Leach warns of zombies on the Palouse

Mike Leach, the head football coach at Washington State, has a way with words.

But the best quip of this struggling season for the Cougars came this week when Leach called out the seniors on the squad for playing, acting and leading the team like zombies.

Here's what Leach told reporters on Monday:

"Some of (the seniors) have been great, and some of them have been very poor. Some of them have had kind of this zombielike, go through the motions, everything is like how it's always been, that's how it'll always be....Some of them quite honestly have an empty-corpse quality."

Here's ESPN's take. But hold on a second, doesn't The Walking Dead's third season start on Sunday? Coincidence? Or is Leach trying to get another walk-on role?

Either way, the Cougars need to de-zombie before Saturday's matchup in Pullman with Cal. They need that first Pac-12 win soon before fans turn into ravenous zombies themselves.
