With Gonzaga tipping off in just a few hours as the first game in ESPN's sorta-insane, but sorta-amazing 24-hour college basketball marathon, it seems OK to start talking about March Madness.
And talk of the NCAA tournament turned toward Spokane today when it was announced that the Spokane Veteran's Memorial Arena would be hosting NCAA men's college basketball tournament games in 2014.
The tournament will bring teams for second and third round match ups on March 20 and 22, meaning the city will be hosting some of the highest-profile college basketball in recent memory.
It's a couple years away, but with women's games slated for Spokane this spring, it's good to see that the city is continuing its dedication to its unofficial religion: basketball.
