Eastern Washington University’s Get Lit! Programs announced this year’s lineup today, and it starts with a big headliner: Joyce Carol Oates, a National Book Award winner, Pulitzer Prize nominee, and generally one of America’s best-known and most beloved authors.
If you haven’t read any of her many novels, essays, then you probably at least recognize her name enough to feel bad about it. Along with Oates, the festival scheduled for April 8-14 will include author Jaimy Gordon (National Book Award winner for Lord of Misrule), Harvard Review Poetry Editor Major Jackson, magazine writer/author Christopher McDougall and hometown legend Jess Walter. Read the whole list here.
And, in case you were wondering, there will indeed be a 2nd Annual Pie & Whiskey reading.
Event tickets and full-festival passes go on sale today through TicketsWest. (ID-carrying high school and college students get in free.) Keep an eye on the Get Lit! site in the coming weeks as more details about the schedule get posted.
