The Harlem Shake has gone global, with a local twist

Posted By on Wed, Feb 20, 2013 at 1:20 PM

This Harlem Shake phenomenon has gotten pretty out of control. Countless groups from across the country have posted videos up on the web of them shaking what their mothers gave them, virtually taking over the internet. Now, finally, this craze has gone global.

That's right, the Harlem Shake has now reached Uganda. We know we already declared the end of the Harlem Shake earlier this week, but Krochet Kids, a nonprofit organization that started here right in Spokane, sent The Inlander this clip of their workers in Africa.

For those unfamiliar with this company, they sell headwear, clothing, and accessories handmade by workers from Uganda and Peru. The purchase of these items goes towards economic developments in communities that are stricken with poverty.

Read more about Krochet Kids here, or check out their site.
