  • Snowstorm cancels flights out of Denver airport

About four inches of snow are being reported from the international airport, causing 150 flights to be canceled so far today.

  • Fourth WSU student has been injured from a fall while drinking

The 19-year-old woman fell from a third-story balcony after celebrating WSU’s win over UCLA on Saturday. Pullman police spokesman Cmdr. Chris Tennant told the Spokesman that the increase in falls is in response to increased binge drinking.

  • Oxford Dictionaries word of the year is the “face with tears of joy” emoji

This is the first time a pictograph has been chosen for word of the year. Some of the runners-up include “refugee,” “lumbersexual,” and “they” when used in place of he or she for an unspecified sex or gender.

  • Planned Parenthood in Washington not selling fetal tissue

After 38 state representatives and 13 state senators asked for it, an investigation was launched into Planned Parenthood after the “trafficking of human body parts” made national news. A state investigation revealed that the clinics do not sell fetal tissue or perform so-called "partial-birth" abortions, as reported in the Spokesman.
