The snow has stopped, at least for today. That means it’s time to take advantage of all of the holiday cheer (and anti-cheer) being spread at various local music clubs. Get out there and enjoy!

TONIGHT
If you missed last weekend’s start to The Nightmare Before Christmas concert series, don’t worry, the super loud event continues tonight through Sunday at Pinnacle Northwest (the Pin!). If it feels to you like nearly every band is playing the Pin’s stage — that is nearly every metal/punk/screamo act in town —it’s because so many are. Click here for the full schedule (local metal act FAUS headlines Sunday, hear new stuff from them below). In order to have time and space for each band, shows begin at 5 pm. Cost is $13 at the door. Many of the bands are raising money for various charities, so feel free to bring extra cash to the event.


In case you aren’t sick of going to ugly sweater Christmas parties this season, Buffalo Jones and B Radicals are hosting their own such event at Jones Radiator tonight. The show starts at 8 pm and doesn’t have a cover charge. Show up in your ugliest holiday sweater and enjoy an entire evening of two local rock/jam bands getting down.

SATURDAY
The Baby Bar/Neato Burrito once again hosts its Winter Formal event Saturday. Be sure to show up in your best formal attire to drink, dance and celebrate the season with some of the best folks in town. This year, the music is brought by the Residents, a mash-up of various local DJs. Cost is Free (oh yes) and the event starts at 8 pm.

Bluesman Sammy Eubanks continues his holiday tradition hosting the Blue Christmas event at the Knitting Factory. The show starts at 8 pm and is free for 21 and over. Cary Fly will also make an appearance to play his local Christmas fave, “Merry Christmas.” Read this week’s story on what it takes to write a new Christmas tune, with local musicians weighing in.
