Spokane City Council likely to drop their transit ballot measure
Now that the Spokane Transit Authority board has decided to place a measure on the ballot that would boost bus service, Spokane City Council is unlikely to pursue a similar measure.

UI dean found dead
Paul J. Joyce, dean of University of Idaho’s College of Science, was found dead in a submerged car. An investigation is ongoing.

New area codes coming to Washington and Idaho
Washington will get a new area code pending regulatory action. Idaho's new area code has been approved and will be rolled out next year. 

Obama to increase military presence in Syria
The president has announced that it will seek to turn the tide in the Syrian civil war by boosting the number of ground troops in the country to about 300.
