This year Inlander readers voted Folkinception their favorite original band in the Inland Northwest, and there are plenty of good reasons why. As we wrote at the time, the band blends rustic, rootsy Americana with slick, melodic pop-folk you might hear on a Top 40 station, "and they're also a hell of a lot of fun to watch live."
This Saturday they'll be playing atop the Paulsen Center in Spokane in what is sure to be a memorable way to celebrate the completion of their new album, Great Northern, and the band was nice enough to let us exclusively debut the tunes for fans who aren't part of the Saturday celebration. Great Northern will be released on Spotify, iTunes and Pandora on July 20.
The next time you can see the band live is either Saturday, July 29, for the Buddhio Fundraiser on Perry, or Wednesday, Aug. 9, at The Nest in Kendall Yards, a free show during the Night Market.
