I still wear it everyday, the white gold shining on my neck. Our daughter
turns it in her hand, watching the gleam, the radiant reflection of the sun
bouncing off the promise of love you once gave to me, gave her. A tear runs
down my cheek, gliding down my neck where you once would gently kiss. I
wonder if she would remember you. I wonder why I still hold on, refusing to
let go of what was never really mine.
