Golfers

Posted on Sat, Aug 25, 2012 at 8:23 AM

Utter disgust, neigh contempt, to my fellow disc golfers who insist on
tossing their empties into the woods at HighBridge and DownRiver. Our sport
was invented by some of the original movers and shakers of the no trash
movement. They would have complete hatred for what you're doing to our
courses and so do I! Our local disc golf organizers are doing a good job of
giving us more and better courses and all you're doing is demonstrating to
the public that we're lazy slobs who don't care about keeping the parks
clean and aren't willing to share them with anyone else. I suggest you give
up golfing and take up picnic table stacking, or better still, stay home
and litter your own living room instead. If the Parks Dept. chose to shut
our courses down, I can't honestly say I'd disagree with their decision
right now! Double Jeers to the drinker (drinkers?) of Rolling Rock Extra
Pale. You know who you are, and I assume there's a good chance you know how
to read. I followed your trail of cans - nice and clean, so very freshly
tossed - around HighBridge this morning (Sunday), doing the right thing by
picking them up and disposing of them properly. More often than not, there
was a trash can just a few yards away and never was there one more than a
single hole away! If I could find out who you are, I'd recommend your
banishment from all the Spokane area courses. I suggest you Google the
phrase "pack it in, pack it out" and "give a hoot, don't pollute." For the
most part, disc golfers are some of the best people you'd ever care to
meet! Let's all try to set a great example to others for our great sport.
