[Cancelled] Wayne “The Train” Hancock

When: Thu., June 9, 7:30 p.m. 2016

If you like your country music devoid of gloss and packed with grit and grime, Wayne “The Train” Hancock could be your next favorite artist. He’s not new; Hancock’s debut Thunderstorms and Neon Signs arrived in 1995, and his newest album, Ride, is his eighth. It also might be his best, distilling Hancock’s soulful blend of roadhouse blues, rockabilly and Western swing into near-perfection on songs like “Deal Gone Down” and “Lone Road Home.” Hancock’s guitar playing is masterful, so much so that you won’t even notice the lack of a drummer on stage, and the man’s voice is capable of soothing you one moment and sending a shiver down your spine the next.
