Evening At Gleason Fest 2016

Here are photos taken during Gleason Fest on August 6, 2016 at Spokane's Riverfront Park Lilac Bowl Amphitheatre, as Pickwick and Portugal. The Man performed. This is the first year that the event was held at this venue, moving from Main Ave. at the east end of downtown.

After being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2011, Spokane native, and former NFL and Washington State University football player Steve Gleason and his wife Michel Gleason organized the first Gleason Fest. The annual event has raised nearly $100,000 for the Gleason Initiative Foundation. The organization raises money to empower those suffering from ALS, including pushing for technological innovation to make communication, among other things, easier, find a cure and raise public awareness.
