The Asian American author, born in Chicago and raised in Bangkok, published his first collection, “Sightseeing,” in 2005 as a compilation of short stories and memoirs of his time as a teen in Bangkok. He received his master of fine arts (MFA) degree in creative writing at the University of Michigan. Lapcharoensap’s short stories have appeared in the journals Granta, Zoetrope, Glimmer Train and the Harcourt book “Best New American Voices.”
