When: Sat., Jan. 9, 10-11:30 a.m. 2016
Sure, this event is tempting with the mere mention of Star Wars, but we promise it’s more than a commercial marketing ploy. As part of the Spark Center’s continual offering of workshops teaching all sorts of useful know-how, from those of an artistic nature to applicable career skills, this Saturday event for kids (geared toward grades 3-6) is an intro to the ever-evolving and important world of computer science. Instructor Diana Hiatt, a retired software engineer, leads the session developed by Code.org, a national nonprofit that seeks to expand access to computer science, especially to girls, women and other underrepresented populations.
