Indigenous activists from Alaska and Montana who are visiting Spokane talk about their communities’ resistance to corporate resource extraction which threatens their way of life. Speakers include: Nikos Pastos, environmental sociologist and expert on technological/industrial disasters (Salish/Kootenai Tribes; Flathead Nation, Montana) and Carl Wassilie, community organizer, environmental sovereignty expert, and co-founder of Alaska’s Big Village Network (Yup’ik Nation, Alaska).
