Last of the Boys

Vietnam incidentally caused some of the worst mental health consequences for young soldiers the United States had ever seen, and in Steven Dietz’s production Last of the Boys, that aftermath of war and death is manifested on stage. In a drama set 30 years after the war ends, veteran buddies Ben and Jeter are brought together as a result of the death of Ben’s father. Although Ben doesn’t attend the services for his dad, the ghosts of his past do not cease to haunt him as he and Jeter move closer to the end of a friendship that kept them bound together during a time of deep division and fracture in American history.
