When: Thu., July 17, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 2014
During the tour, guests have the opportunity to hike through fields of wildflowers and pine forest while learning about local geological formative events and how they impacted the formation of our aquifer. Inspect rocks from Mt. Spokane, a metamorphic core complex; see glacial erratics in the foothills of Mica Peak and lake bottom sedimentary rocks found on mountain-tops in North Idaho. Then visit Steve Livingstone's Mineral Museum and Identification Lab, plus Gem Hill for digging. Take home everything you find to add to your own collection.
