Pedal-powered Paper Making

Veterans from Spokane and Gonzaga’s ROTC have donated a wide range of retired camouflage and service-related clothing to be reduced, reused and recycled. Using a stationary bicycle to power a machine called a Hollander beater that breaks down fibers into a fine pulp, GU’s Telling War project will turn these uniforms into pulp to make paper. The resulting paper will be used as stationary, journals, or memory books.
