Reading, Napping and Paddling on Montana's Smith River

Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club member Marcus Lees discusses the joys and challenges of paddling 59 miles in a canoe with his 5 and 8 year old sons. The Smith River is a tributary of the Missouri River, in central Montana, and is the only river in Montana that requires a permit to float. The river offers amazing canyon scenery and excellent trout fishing.
