When: Sat., Aug. 27 2016
It’s an unusual venue to be sure, and that fact alone should spark some curiosity about the Silver Valley Showdown, an annual, amateur boxing match atop the nearly 6,300-foot Kellogg Peak overlooking its namesake Idaho city. Organized by the Silver Valley Chamber and Spokane Boxing’s Rick Welliver, the evening atop the mountain features boxers from teams and gyms across the Northwest, and as far as Utah and Canada, in a scheduled total of 22 bouts. Spectators also will get to enjoy a scenic ride up and down the mountain on Silver’s gondola, which will ferry attendees as part of their ticket price.
