Back again are some popular and affordable (perhaps even free!) programs that are sure to get you through those short winter days slump.

The most popular is the Ski 1, 2, 3 Program that is offered at each of the Inland Northwest ski resorts. This is the 3-visit learn to ski or snowboard package at a nicely discounted price. This package includes all aspects (lift tickets, rentals and lessons) for three visits. Prices vary based on resort. Lookout Pass is priced at $79.00 for the package, Mt. Spokane is $89.00, 49 & deg; North is $109.00 and Schweitzer and Silver Mountain are $119.00. Please contact the individual mountains for details and restrictions on this package.

If you know someone that would be a good candidate for the Ski 1, 2, 3 program, you can recruit them and earn free lift tickets through the Recruit-a-Rookie Program. There are multiple ways to get the ball rolling and details are available on the Ski the Northwest Rockies Website. But regardless of how you do it, it is a great way to get you and your friends up on the mountain skiing or riding this winter.

Just bought a new Toyota? Or are you still driving your 1982 Toyota pickup truck and looking for an excuse to get it into the mountains? Mark these dates down on your calendar and get up to the mountains and receive a complimentary lift ticket from Toyota (for the driver only). Toyota representatives will be in the parking lots of the ski resorts giving the drivers of each Toyota vehicle their free lift ticket: Lookout Pass on Jan. 11, Schweitzer Mountain Resort on Jan. 18, Silver Mountain on Jan. 25, Mt. Spokane on Feb. 1, and 49 & deg; North on Feb. 8.

Newly launched this year is the Inland Northwest My Ski and Ride Space, available through the Ski the Northwest Rockies home page (skiNWrockies.com). This is a great way to share videos, photos and meet like-minded mountain people from the region. It's easy to participate. Signing up is free and the friendships are endless. Upload some photos and videos and share your passion for the mountains. There are more than 300 members and that number is growing every day. This is your chance to be a part of it!
