Saturday will forego the music and give away more stuff. Deon over at the Long Ear says they're also trying to wrangle an in-store with Jason Mraz. Don't hold your breath, though, waiting for that rocket to come.





Street Like Meatwad & r & With the success of sci-fi tinged MCs (MF Doom, Quasimodo, Kool Keith, etc.), tons of sucker-ass pretenders have begun to vie for the geek MC throne. We at The Inlander think you'd do well to mind the authenticity of your nerd-rappers. To that end, allow us to endorse MC Chris, whose pedigree is immaculate. Not only does he watch hella cartoons, he helps make them. Formerly a writer on Sealab 2021, he's been a voice actor on Aqua Teen Hunger Force since its first season. The merest sampling of his geek-cred includes the voices of MC Pee Pants, Young Carl, Little Brittle and Sir Loin. He graces Fat Tuesday's on Friday.





Punk Like Shampoo Commercials & r & It's hard to say whether becoming corporate shills is a big deal anymore. I mean, didn't "sellout" used to be a scarlet letter? No longer, it seems. The Postal Service is hawking Volkswagens. U2 is pimping iPods. Now the White Stripes' Jack White is flogging Coke. He justified it to & lt;a href="http://nme.com" & nme & lt;/a & thusly: "I certainly wouldn't want a song that I'd already written to be used on a commercial ... To be asked to write something particular along one theme of love in a worldwide form that I'm not really used to appealed to me." Coke and love in a worldwide form? We think we know that one. Doesn't it go, I'd like to teach the world to sing / in perfect harmony?
